Mansfield Primary Academy, part of Greenwood Academies Trust, is delighted to celebrate a glowing Ofsted report following a recent inspection. The newly published findings highlight the exceptional commitment to building strong relationships with the community, its engaging curriculum, and the staff’s dedication to providing a nurturing environment for all pupils.

Ofsted praised the school for its strong community ties, noting that “staff get to know pupils and their families exceptionally well. Pupils are happy here. They say the staff really care about them and they feel well looked after. Parents appreciate this.” The report also commended the school’s clear expectations for behaviour, with inspectors highlighting how “pupils typically behave well” and that the school’s ‘3Rs’ of respect, responsibility, and resilience are central to its ethos.

Principal, David Jane, expressed his pride in the school’s achievements: "We are incredibly proud of this recognition from Ofsted. It reflects the hard work and passion of our staff in creating a supportive and enriching environment for our pupils. Our focus on community, inclusivity, and excellence is central to our mission, and we are excited to continue building on these strengths to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed."

A standout aspect of the report was the school's dynamic curriculum, with a focus on providing memorable learning experiences. Ofsted observed that “many exciting trips bring the curriculum to life,” citing activities such as a seaside camping trip for older pupils and Year 3's visit to the Tropical Butterfly House. The school’s forest school also garnered praise for fostering social engagement, where pupils enjoy unique experiences like toasting marshmallows and caring for chickens.

The report also highlighted the school’s inclusive approach, noting that “ambitions are high for every pupil” and that pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) “do particularly well.” The inspectors commended the staff's efforts in ensuring all children have access to a broad and engaging curriculum, remarking on the significant progress pupils are making, especially in reading. “Pupils thoroughly enjoy their class novels,” Ofsted wrote, noting how younger pupils develop a love for reading through initiatives like the “book vending machine.”

CEO of Greenwood Academies Trust, Wayne Norrie, shared his enthusiasm for the report’s findings: “This is a fantastic achievement for Mansfield Primary Academy and a true reflection of the dedication of both the staff and pupils. The school’s commitment to ensuring every child receives the highest quality education is evident, and we are proud to see them thrive. The school’s strong ties with its community, inclusive values, and focus on nurturing each pupil’s potential are inspiring, and we look forward to supporting their continued success.”

The report also acknowledged the school’s efforts to improve attendance and reduce absences through active engagement with parents. Ofsted praised the school’s work to help families and ensure pupils attend regularly.

Mansfield Primary Academy's Ofsted report serves as a testament to the dedication of its entire school community. With a clear vision and unwavering commitment, the school remains focused on providing a thriving, inclusive environment where every pupil can reach their full potential.
